About the Role
The Software Security Engineer role at Wiz is a key position that focuses on developing and maintaining the company's corporate platforms and services. As a member of the security team, you will be responsible for designing, writing code, and deploying technologies that support corporate security functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in secure development practices, endpoint security, identity and access management, and vulnerability management. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Security, IT, Software Engineering, and DevOps, to ensure the security and integrity of Wiz's systems and data.The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment with a team of experienced security professionals. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with remote teams. What You Will Do
- Design, write code, and deploy technologies that support corporate security functions, including detection and response workflows, vulnerability management, and access control
- Develop and maintain scalable automated systems to secure Wiz employees and corporate systems
- Foster strong cross-functional partnerships with teams, including Product Security, IT, Software Engineering, and DevOps
- Influence Wiz's internal security strategy and develop and execute security initiatives to meet objectives
- Define criteria and measurements to assess progress and respond to security incidents
- Work with cross-functional teams to respond to security incidents, including escalated security events and critical vulnerability remediation
- Collaborate with the security team to develop and implement security policies and procedures
- Participate in the development of security awareness training and education programs
- Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve Wiz's security posture
What We Are Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, security engineering, and/or security operations work
- Strong focus on a combination of skills, including Python programming, cloud computing, version control, CICD, Docker, Terraform, AI-assisted coding, debugging, and unit testing
- Experience with SIEM and SOAR technologies, API integrations, IAM, endpoint and mobile security, OAuth, and vulnerability management
- Experience securing key enterprise systems, including email and communications, employee endpoints, developer tools, customer relationship management, and back-office functions
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with remote teams
- Experience working with modern execution platforms and orchestration tools
- Strong, demonstrated abilities in problem-solving, critical thinking, and maintaining a positive, collaborative approach
Nice to Have
- Experience with Temporal, Javascript/React, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and Okta
- Equivalent job experience in place of a degree
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred but not required
- Experience in organizations that develop software and/or operate managed infrastructure and technology services for their own customers
