About the Role

The Solutions Architect role at Gitlab is a critical position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and customer focus. As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for guiding customers through digital transformation, from planning to monitoring, using Gitlab's DevSecOps platform. You will work closely with Account Executives and cross-functional teams to drive successful platform adoption and support revenue growth.

The role entails working with customers across Australia and New Zealand, understanding their technical requirements and business objectives, and providing tailored solutions to meet their needs. You will be the voice of the customer to Product Management, ensuring that customer feedback is incorporated into the product development process. Reporting to a regional Solutions Architect Manager, you will be part of a high-performance team that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

What You Will Do

  • Guide technical discovery, demos, and validation to show how Gitlab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform meets customers' technical and business needs
  • Manage the technical evaluation process, including solution design, POC/POV ownership, workshop design, and the technical components of tenders, audits, and value stream assessments
  • Work closely with Account Executives and regional sales teams to shape and execute account strategies that support new customer acquisition, expansion, and measurable revenue growth
  • Build and deepen relationships with technical practitioners and business leaders, guiding them through Gitlab-driven digital transformation
  • Advise customers on modern software development, continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, and cloud practices
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations, demos, and workshops to showcase Gitlab's capabilities and value proposition
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success, to ensure alignment and effective communication
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and growth

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role, preferably in a Solutions Architect or similar position
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud and modern software development practices, including DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
  • Proven experience in working with customers to understand their technical requirements and business objectives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong customer focus and ability to build and maintain relationships with technical practitioners and business leaders
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with Gitlab's DevSecOps platform or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts and their application in software development
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and lean principles
  • Certification in cloud computing, DevSecOps, or related fields
