Solutions Architect, Financial Services

About the Role

Day-to-day responsibilities will include leading technical evaluations, designing solutions that fit within financial services constraints, and serving as the voice of these customers back to Product Management. The role requires a deep understanding of cloud and secure software delivery, as well as the ability to shape architectures that meet the unique needs of the financial services sector.

Given the critical nature of this role, the candidate will be expected to build long-term, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders at financial institutions, highlighting GitLab's differentiated position in an AI-driven DevSecOps landscape for regulated industries.

What You Will Do

• Lead technical discovery, demos, and validation to show how GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform addresses the technical, regulatory, and business needs of commercial financial services customers.
• Drive the technical evaluation process, including solution design, POC/POV ownership, workshop design, and support for the technical components of tenders, audits, and value stream assessments.
• Collaborate with Account Executives and regional sales teams to shape and execute account strategies that support new customer acquisition and expansion within financial services.
• Build and deepen relationships with technical practitioners and business stakeholders at financial services organizations, guiding them through GitLab-driven digital transformation.
• Advise customers on modern software development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the financial services sector, including key trends, challenges, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI-powered DevSecOps and its applications in the financial services industry.
• Participate in the development of sales strategies and contribute to the growth of GitLab's presence in the financial services market.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales strategies.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in a Solutions Architect role, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Strong technical background, with a deep understanding of DevSecOps practices, cloud computing, and secure software delivery.
• Experience with AI-powered DevSecOps platforms and their applications in financial services.
• Excellent customer-facing skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in the financial services sector, including compliance and risk management.
• Ability to design and implement solutions that meet the unique needs of financial services institutions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
