About the Role
The Solutions Architect position at Gitlab is a pivotal role that involves serving as a trusted advisor to customers in Latin America, guiding them through the process of understanding and leveraging Gitlab's DevSecOps platform to solve real software delivery challenges. This role is integral in driving measurable business outcomes for customers and is based in Mexico, requiring close collaboration with a regional sales director and account executives across various segments. The first year will be focused on building deep relationships with customers, shaping technical strategy for key accounts, and becoming the go-to technical advocate for Gitlab in the region.The role's significance extends to the broader context of digital transformation, where companies are looking to increase developer productivity, improve operational efficiency, and reduce security and compliance risks. As part of this process, the Solutions Architect will work alongside other technical professionals, reporting to a senior manager in the US, and will be expected to incorporate AI into daily workflows to drive efficiency, innovation, and impact.

What You Will Do
- Engage with prospects and customers across LATAM, both onsite and remotely, to provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the pre-sales process.
- Collaborate with regional sales directors and account executives to shape and execute account strategies that drive Gitlab adoption.
- Own technical evaluations, including proof of value activities, tender and audit responses, and the design and delivery of technical workshops.
- Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual on Customer Success Plans, ensuring technical risks are identified, addressed, and aligned to customer business outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders so they become confident Gitlab advocates within their organizations.
- Act as the customer advocate to internal teams by sharing feedback and insights with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
- Maintain and deepen your expertise in Gitlab and related technologies through training, certifications, and the creation of reusable technical examples for customers and partners.
- Educate customers of all sizes on the value of the GitLab platform, modifying the approach as necessary to align with different customer needs and goals.
- Develop and own technical evaluation proofs of value and workshops that demonstrate modern software development lifecycle workflows with CI/CD, shift-left security, and generative AI.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in a similar Solutions Architect role, preferably in the LATAM region or with experience working with LATAM customers.
- Deep technical knowledge of DevSecOps practices, tools, and platforms, with a strong understanding of CI/CD, shift-left security, and generative AI.
- Experience with Gitlab or similar platforms, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Experience working in a high-performance culture, with a focus on continuous knowledge exchange and driving innovation and impact.
- A strong understanding of the LATAM market, including its unique challenges and opportunities.
- Ability to work remotely and collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
Nice to Have
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese, in addition to English, to effectively communicate with customers across LATAM.
- Experience with AI and machine learning principles and their application in software development.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git.
