About the Role
The Solutions Consultant position at Ramp is a critical role that involves partnering with existing customers to deepen and expand their use of Ramp's financial management products. This entails understanding the customer's current financial workflows, identifying areas where Ramp's solutions can add value, and demonstrating how these solutions can be integrated to enhance financial operations. The role requires a deep understanding of financial systems, ERP integrations, and technical architecture, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Day-to-day, the Solutions Consultant will work closely with the Account Management team to assess customer needs, design and recommend tailored solutions, and ensure a smooth implementation process. This involves evaluating customer requirements, designing best-fit Ramp architectures, and acting as a technical advisor to guide integration and configuration decisions. The ability to troubleshoot ERP and integration issues and provide timely solutions is also essential.
Given the nature of Ramp's business, which involves managing over $200B in annualized spend for more than 70,000 companies, the role of a Solutions Consultant is not only technically demanding but also critical to the success of Ramp's customers. What You Will Do
- Partner with Account Managers to demonstrate new Ramp products and features to existing customers, focusing on customized demos and workflow illustrations that highlight the business case for expansion.
- Evaluate customer requirements for expansion opportunities, using tools like use-case analysis, ROI assessments, and technical scoping to determine the best approach.
- Design and recommend best-fit Ramp architecture for each customer, considering their existing systems and workflows, and including the use of APIs, ERP integrations, and HRIS connectors as necessary.
- Act as a technical advisor to customers and internal teams, providing guidance on integration, configuration, and system design decisions without directly writing code.
- Troubleshoot complex ERP and integration issues, guiding customers through configuration decisions and ensuring timely resolution of technical blockers.
- Support Account Managers on technical workstreams to ensure faster time-to-value for customers during product rollouts and expansions.
- Be a subject matter expert across accounting systems and integration partners, advocating for the development of integrations that meet customer needs.
- Influence Ramp's product roadmap by channeling customer feedback and pain points to the Product and Engineering teams.
- Contribute to internal documentation, tooling, and knowledge bases to enhance Ramp's ability to support a growing customer base with diverse integration needs.
What We Are Looking For
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Solutions Consulting, Technical Consulting, or Implementation, preferably in the SaaS or fintech industry.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field, with a strong foundation in technical and financial principles.
- Hands-on familiarity with ERP systems, including but not limited to NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, and Oracle Fusion, with the ability to understand and navigate complex financial workflows.
- Comfort with APIs and integration logic, with an understanding of how these technologies can be leveraged to enhance financial operations and solve real-world problems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proven track record of driving customer satisfaction and expansion through the delivery of tailored solutions that meet specific customer needs.
