About the Role

As a Solutions Consultant at Ramp, you will serve as the primary technical and financial advisor for government agencies, educational institutions, and nonprofits evaluating Ramp's platform. You will guide prospective customers through technical discovery, design tailored solutions that align with compliance and security requirements, and deliver compelling demos that highlight Ramp's ability to modernize financial workflows.

The public sector is a critical area of focus for Ramp, and as a Solutions Consultant, you will play a key role in driving growth and adoption in this space. You will work closely with the sales, product, engineering, and compliance teams to ensure that Ramp's platform meets the unique needs of government agencies and other public sector organizations.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct deep technical and workflow discovery with public sector prospects to understand their financial systems and identify areas for improvement
  • Deliver customized demos showcasing Ramp's value for finance, procurement, and compliance teams
  • Design secure, scalable solutions leveraging Ramp's APIs, ERP integrations, and compliance frameworks to meet the unique needs of federal, state, and local governments
  • Partner with Account Executives to drive technical consensus across diverse stakeholders and translate technical concepts into strategic outcomes
  • Support security and compliance alignment, ensuring proposed solutions align with FedRAMP, SOC 2, HIPAA, CJIS, and relevant procurement requirements
  • Guide RFPs and proposals, leading technical evaluations and building ROI analyses that demonstrate Ramp's value
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Compliance to prioritize integrations and share public sector customer insights that shape Ramp's roadmap
  • Enable seamless implementation, partnering with Customer Success on post-sale deployments to ensure customers achieve value from Ramp quickly and securely
  • Act as a thought leader in public sector finance modernization, participating in industry events, conferences, and customer workshops

What We Are Looking For

  • 5-7 years of experience in Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering, or Solutions Architecture at a SaaS or fintech company
  • Strong background in financial systems, accounting workflows, and ERP integrations
  • Hands-on expertise with API integrations, SFTP configurations, and security protocols
  • Experience supporting public sector organizations, with a working knowledge of procurement processes, compliance frameworks, and IT/security requirements
  • Ability to influence and present to executive stakeholders across technical and business functions
  • Proven success navigating long, multi-stakeholder sales/adoption cycles
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, finance, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical and business challenges and develop creative solutions

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with federal and state procurement frameworks
  • Experience with government financial systems (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday)
  • Knowledge of cloud-based financial management systems and related technologies
  • Certification in a relevant area, such as ITIL or CISSP
