About the Role

The Solutions Engineer role at Openai is a critical component of the Technical Success team, which is dedicated to ensuring that enterprise customers maximize the benefits and value of Openai's suite of products. As a Solutions Engineer, you will be at the forefront of driving business value for these customers, working closely with senior business stakeholders to understand their needs, guide their AI strategy, and identify high-value use cases for Openai's models. This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and offers a hybrid work model with relocation assistance for new employees.

The Technical Success team operates at the intersection of technology and business, ensuring that Openai's customers can effectively leverage the power of AI to drive their own success. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of diverse customers, from early-stage startups to established global enterprises, each with their unique challenges and opportunities.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver exceptional pre-sales customer experiences for enterprise prospects and customers, providing technical expertise and outlining the value proposition of Openai's solutions.
  • Demonstrate how Openai's suite of products can meet customers' business needs and deliver substantial business value through building and presenting demos, scoping use cases, and recommending architectural patterns.
  • Create and maintain documentation, guides, and FAQs related to common questions and requirements discovered during the pre-sales process.
  • Develop and nurture strong customer relationships during the evaluation, validation, and purchasing process.
  • Foster customer advocacy and represent the voice of the customer with internal teams by gathering and relaying customer feedback.
  • Identify themes across customers and incorporate them into product planning to drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the first line of defense for security and compliance questions, explaining standardized collateral and guiding customers toward relevant resources.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Sales, Security, and Product teams to ensure a cohesive and customer-centric approach.

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales or similar role, including 4+ years selling to Enterprise customers and managing C-level technical and business relationships.
  • Thorough understanding of IT security principles and customer requirements for technical B2B SaaS products.
  • Foundational training in programming languages like Python or Javascript.
  • Experience delivering prototypes of Generative AI/traditional ML solutions and knowledge of network/cloud architecture.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills to translate business and technical topics to all audiences, including senior leaders.
  • Ability to own problems end-to-end and a willingness to acquire missing knowledge to achieve goals.
  • Humble attitude, eagerness to help colleagues, and a desire to do whatever it takes to make the team succeed.
