Job Description

About the Role

The Technical Success team at Openai is dedicated to ensuring that customers maximize the benefits and value of the OpenAI API platform and ChatGPT business product. As a Solutions Engineer, you will play a critical role in this mission by partnering with customers to understand their pre-sales needs, guiding their AI strategy, and identifying high-value use cases and applications. You will work closely with senior business stakeholders to demonstrate the value of Openai's solutions and recommend architectural patterns to kickstart implementation and development.

The role is based in Seoul, South Korea, and offers a hybrid work model with relocation assistance for new employees. You will be part of a team that values diversity, inclusivity, and the safe and ethical evolution of AI.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver exceptional pre-sales customer experiences through technical expertise and strategic guidance.
  • Provide technical support in the pre-sales process, including outlining value propositions, clarifying technical requirements, and answering product-related questions.
  • Demonstrate the value of ChatGPT and the OpenAI API through demos, use case scoping, and proof of concepts.
  • Serve as the first line of defense for security and compliance questions, providing standardized collateral and guiding customers toward relevant resources.
  • Create and maintain documentation, guides, and FAQs related to common questions and requirements.
  • Develop and nurture strong customer relationships during the evaluation and purchasing process.
  • Foster customer advocacy and represent the voice of the customer with internal teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and GRC teams to ensure a seamless pre-sales experience.
  • Identify and escalate complex customer requirements to appropriate teams.
  • Continuously update knowledge of Openai's products and services to provide accurate and effective support.

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in a Solutions Engineer or similar role, preferably working with technical enterprise products.
  • A solid track record of delivering and scaling exceptional pre-sales customer experiences.
  • Experience providing higher-level security and compliance support.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of IT security principles and customer requirements for similar technical B2B SaaS products.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, particularly when engaging with executives and leaders.
  • A humble attitude, an eagerness to help others, and a desire to learn and grow with the team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to adapt to frequent context switching, and effective project management skills.
  • Commitment to fostering the safe and ethical evolution of AI.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with AI-powered solutions and a deep understanding of AI principles.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and DevOps practices.
  • Certification in IT security or compliance, such as CISSP or CISM.
  • Fluency in Korean, in addition to English.
