Job Description

About the Role

The Technical Success team at Openai is dedicated to ensuring the safe and effective deployment of ChatGPT and OpenAI API applications for developers and enterprises. As a Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in helping customers transform their businesses through innovative AI solutions. You will partner with senior business stakeholders to understand their pre-sales needs, guide their AI strategy, and identify the highest value use cases and applications. This role involves working closely with business and technical teams to demonstrate the value of OpenAI solutions and recommend architectural patterns to kickstart implementation and development.

In this capacity, you will act as a trusted advisor and thought leader for customers, ensuring they maximize value from OpenAI models and products. Your expertise will be crucial in driving business growth and adoption of AI technologies. The position requires someone who can balance technical expertise with business acumen, communicating complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver exceptional pre-sales customer experiences through technical expertise and value proposition outlining.
  • Demonstrate how OpenAI APIs and ChatGPT can meet customers’ business needs and deliver substantial business value.
  • Build and present demos, scope use cases, recommend architecture patterns, and provide in-depth technical advisory services.
  • Create and maintain documentation, guides, and FAQs related to common pre-sales questions and requirements.
  • Develop and nurture strong customer relationships during the evaluation, validation, and purchasing process.
  • Foster customer advocacy and represent the voice of the customer within internal teams.
  • Gather and relay customer feedback, identifying themes across customers and incorporating them into product planning.
  • Serve as the first line of defense for security and compliance questions, guiding customers toward relevant resources.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and support.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales or similar role, with a focus on managing C-level technical and business relationships.
  • Thorough understanding of IT security principles and customer requirements for technical B2B SaaS products.
  • Experience providing higher-level security and compliance support.
  • Foundational training in programming languages such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of Generative AI/traditional ML solutions and experience with network/cloud architecture.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills to translate business and technical topics to various audiences.
  • Ability to own problems end-to-end and a willingness to acquire missing knowledge.
  • Humble attitude, eagerness to help colleagues, and a desire to contribute to team success.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI and machine learning technologies beyond foundational levels.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Previous experience in a solutions engineering role within the AI or tech industry.
