About the Role

The Technical Success team at OpenAI is dedicated to ensuring that customers maximize the benefits of their AI models. As a Solutions Engineer, you will play a critical role in this effort, partnering with Private Equity customers to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding their AI strategy and identifying high-value use cases.

The role entails working closely with senior business stakeholders to understand their pre-sales needs, demonstrating the value of OpenAI's solutions, and recommending architectural patterns to kickstart their implementation and development. You will also collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure seamless integration of OpenAI's models into their operations.

The success of OpenAI's customers is a top priority, and as a Solutions Engineer, you will be at the forefront of this effort. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, combined with your business acumen, will be essential in driving business value for these customers.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver exceptional pre-sales customer experiences for large Private Equity prospects and customers
  • Provide technical expertise to outline the value proposition and answer product, API, and LLM-related questions
  • Demonstrate how OpenAI's suite of products can meet customers' business needs and deliver substantial business value
  • Build and present demos, scope use cases, and recommend architecture patterns
  • Create and maintain documentation, guides, and FAQs related to common questions and requirements
  • Develop and nurture strong customer relationships during the evaluation, validation, and purchasing process
  • Foster customer advocacy and represent the voice of the customer with internal teams
  • Gather and relay customer feedback, identify themes across customers, and incorporate them into product planning
  • Serve as the first line of defense for security and compliance questions, explaining standardized collateral and guiding customers toward relevant resources

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales or similar role, including 3+ years working with Private Equity partners
  • Thorough understanding of IT security principles and customer requirements for technical B2B SaaS products
  • Foundational training in programming languages like Python or Javascript
  • Experience delivering prototypes of Generative AI/traditional ML solutions and knowledge of network/cloud architecture
  • Effective presentation and communication skills to translate business and technical topics to all audiences
  • Ability to own problems end-to-end and pick up whatever knowledge is missing to get the job done
  • Humble attitude, eagerness to help colleagues, and a desire to do whatever it takes to make the team succeed

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools
  • Certification in AI or machine learning
