Job Description

About the Role

The Sourcing Specialist position at GE Vernova is a critical role that involves leading strategic sourcing activities for the construction and installation categories across North America. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to negotiate complex contracts. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for driving cost savings, improving vendor relationships, and implementing process improvements.

The role entails working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including manufacturing, process engineering, finance, and supply chain teams. The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans, managing vendor relationships, and driving contract negotiations. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The team context is collaborative, with a focus on driving excellent service levels to the organization. The Sourcing Specialist will report to the Construction Global Category Leader and work with regional and global peers to coordinate sourcing efforts.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for construction and installation categories
  • Manage vendor relationships and drive contract negotiations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies and processes
  • Analyze data and develop contracting strategies to ensure cost transparency and operational KPIs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to drive process improvements
  • Oversee end-to-end sourcing process, including strategy, market analysis, negotiation process, supplier selection, and contract creation
  • Perform detailed cost analysis and negotiations to ensure competitive pricing
  • Drive standardized sourcing processes and achievement of savings and cash targets
  • Develop collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies and processes
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop strong scopes of work and establish standard processes for sourcing

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing or supply chain
  • Strong experience within the construction and installation category
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to implement and drive process improvements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including solid knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and excellent communication skills
  • Experience with RFQ implementation and execution
  • Strong experience in sourcing processes
  • Aggressive self-starter, fast learner able to handle multiple tasks in parallel

Nice to Have

  • MBA or Bachelor's degree in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering
  • Experience in construction sourcing/contracting and/or project management
  • Experience in Facilities or other Indirect commodities
  • Experience negotiating non-standard legal terms and conditions
  • Strategic sourcing/category management experience in a multinational company
