About the Role

The medical interpreter will work in a blended environment, utilizing both Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) services. The ability to understand and interpret complex medical terminology and concepts is essential. The role involves working independently as well as part of a team, ensuring seamless communication across different healthcare and service settings.

What You Will Do

• Provide accurate and timely interpretation services for medical, social services, customer service, and financial calls
• Facilitate communication between healthcare providers and patients or family members
• Interpret complex medical terminology and concepts
• Utilize Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) services
• Manage multiple calls simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Ensure HIPAA compliance in all interactions
• Utilize Excel for data management and reporting as required
• Participate in training sessions to improve interpretation skills and knowledge of medical terminology
• Collaborate with other interpreters and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality service
• Work a full-time schedule, 5 days a week, with 2 days off

What We Are Looking For

• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Relevant certification in medical interpretation or a related field
• Experience in medical, customer service, social services, and financial calls interpretation
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Ability to work in a remote, tech-enabled environment
• Familiarity with medical terminology and concepts
• Remote interpretation experience in both languages is mandatory
• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to Have

• Experience with data management tools like Excel for tracking and reporting
• Knowledge of additional languages
• Previous experience working in a call center or customer service environment
• Certification in a related field, such as healthcare or social services
