The role of a Special Education Teacher is multifaceted, requiring a deep understanding of educational principles, specialized learning strategies, and the ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student. What You Will Do

• Develop and implement personalized learning plans based on each student's IEP, ensuring that all educational goals and objectives are met.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress, involving them in the educational process whenever possible.
• Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
• Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, such as annual IEP meetings, to discuss student progress and adjust learning plans as necessary.
• Utilize provided resources to ensure accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities, including assistive technology and accessible texts.
• Make modifications and accommodations to lessons and assessments as specified by the IEP to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all students.
• Collect data and maintain detailed records of student progress towards IEP goals and objectives, using this information to inform future educational decisions.
• Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, leveraging technology to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Maintain academic integrity, make informed decisions about student placement and promotion, and alert administrators to any concerns regarding student performance or progress.

What We Are Looking For

• A valid Texas Special Education Certification or the ability to obtain one.
• Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in an online or virtual educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and other educators.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, maintaining a professional home office environment.
