Job Description

About the Role

The Sr. Consultant - DFC role at NBS is a full-time, exempt position that can be based remotely or in Temecula, CA. As a key member of the District Formation Consulting Group, you will work closely with local government agencies to develop revenue tools and provide strategic advice and solutions to clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing projects from inception to completion, analyzing complex business challenges, and leading project teams to successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding time management skills, proficiency in forecasting project fulfillment time, and the ability to proactively anticipate and suggest solutions to changes in client needs. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining professional relationships with clients and their assigned representatives, and serving as a client service manager consistent with the NBS Client Care Program.

The District Formation Consulting Group at NBS works with local government agencies to develop revenue tools, from preliminary analyses such as fiscal impact analysis to formation of assessment and community facilities districts and debt issuance. As a Sr. Consultant, you will be accountable for providing strategic advice and solutions to clients, analyzing complex business challenges, developing comprehensive plans, and leading project teams to successful outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Manage projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight and a focus on quality control
  • Analyze complex business challenges and develop comprehensive plans to address them
  • Lead project teams to successful outcomes, including interaction with clients, delegation of project tasks, and attendance and/or presentation in client and public meetings
  • Partner with leaders to define required performance standards, identify obstacles, and recommend solutions that deliver desired outcomes
  • Manage all project resources, including review of work produced by all staff contributing to project deliverables
  • Review peer work product for quality control purposes, as requested
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and their assigned representatives
  • Serve as a client service manager consistent with the NBS Client Care Program
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends by attending conferences and seminars as requested
  • Act as a mentor to analyst and consultant staff to contribute to their proficiency in technical knowledge, project management, client services, and marketing/sales/business development
