About the Role

BeyondTrust, a global leader in identity security, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join its team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in optimizing and enhancing the company's state-of-the-art datalakehouse, which processes billions of events daily. Your expertise will be crucial in developing new data processing routes, removing redundancy, and reducing transformation overhead, all while ensuring security and computational efficiency.

The datalakehouse is the backbone of BeyondTrust's cybersecurity SaaS portfolio, providing valuable insights that help protect organizations from cyber threats. Your work will have a direct impact on the company's ability to deliver immediate value to its customers. What You Will Do

  • Optimize data workloads at a software level to improve processing efficiency
  • Develop new data processing routes to remove redundancy or reduce transformation overhead
  • Perform complex data transformations to accomplish niche business use cases
  • Develop new frameworks for data development to supercharge delivery velocity
  • Monitor and maintain existing data workflows
  • Use observability best practices to ensure pipeline performance
  • Perform complex transformations on both real-time and batch data assets
  • Create new ML/Engineering solutions to tackle existing issues in the cybersecurity space
  • Leverage CI/CD best practices to effectively develop and release source code
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data-driven projects
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data engineering and cybersecurity

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong programming and technology knowledge in cloud data processing
  • Previous experience working in matured data lakes
  • Strong data modeling skills for analytical workloads
  • Experience with Spark (or equivalent parallel processing framework), with existing Databricks knowledge being a plus
  • Interest and aptitude for cybersecurity; interest in identity security is highly preferred
  • Technical understanding of underlying systems and computation minutiae
  • Experience working with distributed systems and data processing on object stores
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Highly proficient in Python (or another object-oriented language)
  • Distributed processing framework experience
  • Real-time processing experience is highly preferred
  • Some experience with graph data stores is ideal

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data warehousing for analytics use cases
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices
  • Participation in open-source projects related to data engineering or cybersecurity
