About the Role
Mitek Systems is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering team, fostering a culture rooted in data-driven decision-making. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing the company's globally distributed, large-scale cloud platform, processing vast amounts of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Your expertise will help unlock new capabilities and generate insights that power every aspect of the platform delivery. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data systems that support advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives across Mitek.The Senior Data Engineer will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with Product Management, Data Analytics, Software Development, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performing data feeds, enterprise-level reports, and data solutions. This role requires a detail-oriented and data-driven mindset, with a strong focus on efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data systems that support advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives
- Build sustainable and scalable data pipelines, processes, and platforms that enable efficient collection, transformation, and analysis of data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performing data feeds, enterprise-level reports, and data solutions
- Apply software engineering best practices, data management fundamentals, and recent advances in distributed systems
- Work with Product Management, Data Analytics, Software Development, and business stakeholders to drive impactful outcomes
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for data systems and processes
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Participate in the development of the company's data strategy and roadmap
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based data platforms
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data management tools
- Experience with distributed systems, such as MapReduce and noSQL databases
- Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL, and data governance
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working in a Virtual 1st environment, with flexibility and adaptability
- Strong understanding of data security and compliance regulations
Nice to Have
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Azure
