About the Role
Reddit is a community-driven platform with over 100,000 active communities and 121 million daily unique visitors. The Ads Marketplace Data Science team sits at the intersection of economics, machine learning, and human behavior, and is responsible for driving the growth of Reddit's ads business. As a Senior Data Science Manager, you will lead a team of high-caliber data scientists to partner with Product, Engineering, and Sales to build a world-class, transparent, and efficient marketplace.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, with expertise in machine learning, economics, and human behavior. You will be responsible for driving data science projects end-to-end, analyzing large datasets to identify trends and patterns, and informing product strategy and investment decisions.
What You Will Do
- Inspire, lead, and grow a team of data scientists to achieve long-term vision
- Drive data science projects end-to-end in partnership with Product, Engineering, and other partners
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can help understand marketplace dynamics
- Actively influence the design of the strategy and shaping of the roadmap
- Create and implement A/B testing, experimentation, and other cutting-edge statistical/mathematical frameworks
- Continually develop and execute on a Data Science roadmap and vision for your team
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in the field of advertising and data science
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence
- Be an integral part of the Data Science Org, leveraging and contributing to the vibrant knowledge base
What We Are Looking For
- PhD or Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields
- 6+ years of industry data science experience (or 8+ years if holding a Master's degree)
- Strong expertise in machine learning, economics, and human behavior
- Experience in driving data science projects end-to-end
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends and patterns
- Strong understanding of the ads marketplace and its dynamics
Nice to Have
- Experience with Excel and other data analysis tools
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R
- Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Certification in data science or a related field
