About the Role
The Senior Director, Strategy & Delivery - Cardiometabolic will play a crucial role in overseeing all assigned projects, ensuring that study launch, conduct, and closeout occur according to the customer's and company's contractual agreement. This role will be responsible for forecasting, prioritizing, and directing staff to achieve on-time sponsor deliverables with quality and in accordance with contracted scope and customer expectations. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Therapeutic Strategy and Innovation team to provide operational input in support of proposal development and pricing, including the proposed operational strategy.As a key member of the team, the Senior Director will drive preparation and facilitation of bid defense meetings in collaboration with the Therapeutic Strategy and Innovation team and Business Development. This role will also provide oversight to project management teams in driving the management of financial aspects of assigned projects, including executed contracts, change orders, forecasting, and invoicing.
The Senior Director will actively mentor junior project delivery oversight staff in leadership skills, customer management skills, project management skills, and Trusted Process compliance. The role will also involve troubleshooting difficulties that may arise in project conduct between the company and customer and managing escalations appropriately.
What You Will Do
- Provide oversight for all assigned projects to ensure study launch, conduct, and closeout occur according to the customer's and company's contractual agreement
- Forecast, prioritize, and direct staff to achieve on-time sponsor deliverables with quality and in accordance with contracted scope and customer expectations
- Collaborate with the Therapeutic Strategy and Innovation team to provide operational input in support of proposal development and pricing
- Drive preparation and facilitation of bid defense meetings in collaboration with the Therapeutic Strategy and Innovation team and Business Development
- Provide oversight to project management teams in driving the management of financial aspects of assigned projects
- Actively mentor junior project delivery oversight staff in leadership skills, customer management skills, project management skills, and Trusted Process compliance
- Troubleshoot difficulties that may arise in project conduct between the company and customer and manage escalations appropriately
- Develop and maintain knowledge of evolving trends related to the therapeutic area, competitive landscape, and drug development trends
- Provide support to teams in regularly and comprehensively assessing and mitigating risks on their projects
- Participate in corporate initiatives and/or represent Project Management in regional or business activities

- Strong knowledge of project management principles, practices, and techniques
