About the Role
The Senior Director of Product Marketing and Strategy at Accela is a critical role that blends strategic product marketing with market intelligence to inform the company's outbound product narrative and go-to-market readiness. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this leader will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance, to drive cohesive, market-informed storytelling and support Accela's growth in the govtech market.As a key member of the leadership team, the Senior Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong point of view on the govtech landscape, including buyer behaviors, procurement patterns, competitive trends, and emerging opportunities. This will involve conducting ongoing market and competitive intelligence, translating insights into clear implications for product positioning and go-to-market strategy, and providing structured input into strategic conversations with Product and Executive leadership.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the govtech market, including its unique challenges and opportunities, and will be able to leverage this knowledge to drive business outcomes. They will be a strategic thinker, a collaborative leader, and a skilled communicator, with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain a strong point of view on the govtech landscape, including buyer behaviors, procurement patterns, competitive trends, and emerging opportunities
- Conduct ongoing market and competitive intelligence, translating insights into clear implications for product positioning and go-to-market strategy
- Provide structured input into strategic conversations with Product and Executive leadership
- Own product positioning, value propositions, and solution messaging across priority products and verticals
- Partner with Marketing to build differentiated content, including solution overviews, sales decks, product collateral, launch messaging, and analyst-facing narratives
- Support Sales with competitive positioning, strategic deal framing, and customer-facing product storytelling
- Represent Accela's product strategy narrative in analyst discussions, customer advisory boards, and strategic customer conversations
- Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Finance on pricing and packaging discussions
- Provide market, buyer, and competitive insights to inform pricing decisions, packaging options, and adoption levers
- Assess how competitors and adjacent markets structure pricing, and offer data-driven recommendations
What We Are Looking For
- 8-10+ years of experience in B2B SaaS product marketing, product strategy, or a related role, with a strong preference for govtech or public-sector experience
- Demonstrated strength in product positioning, solution messaging, and competitive/market analysis
- Experience participating in pricing and packaging discussions or supporting monetization initiatives
- Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners
- Proven ability to translate market insights into clear go-to-market direction
- Strong understanding of the govtech market, including its unique challenges and opportunities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive business outcomes
