About the Role
The Senior Order Manager at Red River plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of goods and services to meet the demands of the company's Thor Programs supporting the US Navy. This position involves managing the entire order management process, from initial placement to final delivery, and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams. As a key member of the supply chain team, the Senior Order Manager will work closely with sales, program management, operations, and finance to ensure seamless order fulfillment.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a high volume of orders, ensuring timely processing, and maintaining accurate records. This role also involves building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and driving continuous improvement within the department. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, the Senior Order Manager will provide excellent communication and support to internal stakeholders and external partners.
What You Will Do
- Manage the entire order management process, from initial placement to final delivery
- Collaborate with sales, program management, operations, and finance to ensure seamless order fulfillment
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Drive continuous improvement within the department and with external partners
- Manage a high volume of orders, ensuring timely processing and maintaining accurate records
- Provide excellent communication and support to internal stakeholders and external partners
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain reports and analysis to support program leadership
- Identify opportunities to leverage and maximize Red River's buying power
- Partner with internal warehouse and logistics teams to manage aged inventory and coordinate documentation and shipments
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in an order management role, project management, buyer/procurement, or similar function
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel
- 2-year degree or relevant experience in a related field
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well on a team
- Ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy under a heavy workload
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superb organizational skills
- Ability to work in a remote office environment
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain 100% accuracy on large, complex tasks
Nice to Have
- 4-year degree preferred or relevant experience in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or similar
- 8+ years of experience in an order management role, project management, buyer, or similar function
- Experience troubleshooting, analyzing, and solving complex business process problems
- Experience working in a commercial and federal business environment
