About the Role

As a Senior P&C Engineer, you will play a vital role in providing technical sales support for GE Vernova's protection and control product portfolio. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding customers through the planning and development of technical solutions, ensuring that their needs are met and that GE Vernova's products and solutions are showcased in the best possible light. You will be part of a dynamic team that values collaboration, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

The role involves working closely with customers to understand their requirements, demonstrating solutions, and promoting the business value proposition of GE Vernova's products and solutions. Your technical expertise will be essential in assisting customers with trouble-shooting and analysis of protection and control systems, including 61850 applications, transmission protection, and industrial protection applications.

What You Will Do

  • Act as an expert consultant to guide customers in planning and development of technical solutions
  • Assist with the technical development of proposals, ensuring compliance with customer specifications
  • Provide technical support to commercial teams during customer presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, and testing
  • Assist customers in trouble-shooting and analysis of protection and control systems
  • Track issues discovered during demonstrations, evaluations, and testing of products and follow through with the Technology team to provide a resolution
  • Lead technical presentations to customers in support of sales or service
  • Provide product training to customers and the sales force
  • Assist customers with product testing at their location
  • Work directly with customers to influence technical specifications and support the sales team in achieving key orders
  • Develop and cultivate long-term relationships at the technical levels of customer organizations
  • Coordinate with sales teams to make customer calls and presentations, participating in bid meetings and site walk-through meetings as necessary
  • Support the development of new leads and market opportunities in the Sales Region
  • Partner with peers and management to enhance selling techniques and approaches in line with regional growth objectives and Grid Automation's initiatives
  • Provide market dynamics input, such as competitive intelligence and industry trends, to Marketing and Business teams
  • Prepare and present technical presentations, white papers, and case studies at industry conferences

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in power system protection and control
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Customer-focused attitude with proven positive results
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with power system automation and communication
  • Hands-on expertise in configuring and troubleshooting protection and control systems
  • Knowledge of 61850-based protection systems
  • Experience performing power system protection coordination studies, short circuit studies, and relay setting calculations
