About the Role
As a Senior Principal Architect at Here Technologies, you will play a pivotal role in defining and driving the company's visual-first map platform. This involves combining AI, 3D world modeling, and scalable data pipelines to create a digital representation of reality at a global scale. You will act as a technical visionary, leading the development of end-to-end architecture for visual-to-map pipelines, from imagery to 3D and semantic maps. Your role will also involve driving the adoption of AI-based map creation, leveraging computer vision, world models, and Universal Scene Description (USD) based scene representations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will provide technical leadership, mentoring architects and engineers to ensure the successful implementation of the platform.About the Role (and team context)

- Define end-to-end architecture for visual-to-map pipelines, combining AI, 3D world modeling, and scalable data pipelines
- Lead the development of scalable systems for 3D and visual geospatial data processing and serving
- Drive the adoption of AI-based map creation, leveraging computer vision, world models, and Universal Scene Description (USD) based scene representations
- Architect the use of world foundation models for scene understanding and simulation
- Standardize USD as the canonical world representation
- Build pipelines for map creation and offline export products
- Advance algorithmic 3D modeling, including splines, procedural geometry, and parametric structures
- Drive data modeling for 3D map features
- Align platform architecture with ADAS, digital twin, and map product needs
- Provide technical leadership across teams, mentoring architects and engineers
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in software architecture, 3D platforms, or geospatial systems
- Proven leadership in large-scale platform architecture and technical strategy
- Strong expertise in computer vision, deep learning, and 3D representations
- Experience with modern 3D and AI toolchains, including PyTorch and Tensorflow
- Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud platforms, and large-scale data processing
- Strong understanding of geospatial systems, mapping, and location-based services
- Knowledge of a wide array of tools in the 3D and deep learning domain
- Background in graphics pipelines, 3D scene representations, and computer vision
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
- Familiarity with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices
- Experience with DevOps and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Certification in cloud computing, such as AWS or Azure
