Sr. Product Operations Manager I (Remote Eligible in Bulgaria)

About the Role

The product operations function is at the heart of Smartsheet's mission to empower teams to manage work seamlessly and scale solutions smarter. By orchestrating the work that agents do best, automating manual tasks, and uncovering insights at scale, Smartsheet creates the space for people to focus on judgment, creativity, and big thinking. This role will be integral in driving this mission forward by streamlining product operations and leveraging cutting-edge technologies.

You will be working remotely from Bulgaria and will report to the Director, Technical Programs and Ops. This presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the growth and development of Smartsheet's product operations.

What You Will Do

• Own and continuously evolve the product operating rhythm, including planning cycles, OKR frameworks, launch readiness, and cross-functional retrospectives.
• Redesign inefficient processes end-to-end, building standard operating procedures (SOPs) and playbooks that get adopted broadly across the organization.
• Design product health dashboards that connect operational metrics to business outcomes, moving the conversation from 'what happened' to 'what do we do next'.
• Own the tooling strategy for your area, evaluating, configuring, and driving the adoption of systems that reinforce accountability and visibility.
• Identify AI augmentation opportunities within operational workflows and build them out to reduce manual overhead and increase leverage across the team.
• Partner directly with Directors and VPs to surface operational insights that inform investment and prioritization decisions.
• Mentor peers and actively contribute to building the Product Ops function.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the growth and efficiency of the product operations team.

What We Are Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in product operations, strategy and operations, or a closely related field, with a proven track record of redesigning operational processes with measurable impact.
• Strong data fluency, with the ability to design measurement frameworks and connect operational metrics to business outcomes.
• Experience influencing Director and VP-level stakeholders through operational insight and well-structured recommendations.
• Builder mindset, with the ability to prototype and automate solutions rather than waiting for direction from the top.
• Deep cross-functional instincts, having built durable bridges between product, engineering, design, and GTM in previous roles.
• Experience with Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools at a systems level, not just as a user.
• Business or technical degree, or equivalent experience.
• Legal eligibility to work in Bulgaria on an ongoing basis and fluency in English.

• Experience in a high-growth technology company, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with rapid scaling.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning technologies, and how they can be integrated into operational workflows to drive efficiency and innovation.
• A background in process improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, with a certification or extensive experience.
