About the Role
The Sr Retirement Service Consultant role at Ascensus is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and business acumen. As a key member of the Client Services team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality service to clients, managing complex retirement plans, and providing expert advice to clients and internal stakeholders. The role will involve working closely with the Relationship Manager to deliver client satisfaction, identifying and resolving client issues, and providing coaching and mentoring to other associates.The Sr Retirement Service Consultant will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, including plan sponsors, intermediaries, and financial professionals. The role will require a deep understanding of retirement plans, including plan design, implementation, and administration. The successful candidate will be expected to stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in retirement planning.
As a technical resource to the Ascensus organization, the Sr Retirement Service Consultant will be responsible for providing expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and operations teams. The role will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
What You Will Do
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on retirement plan design, implementation, and administration
- Manage a portfolio of clients, including plan sponsors, intermediaries, and financial professionals
- Identify and resolve client issues, and provide coaching and mentoring to other associates
- Work closely with the Relationship Manager to deliver client satisfaction and identify business opportunities
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in retirement planning
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and operations teams
- Develop and implement strategies to improve client satisfaction and retention
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Provide training and support to other associates on retirement plan administration and client service
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in retirement plan administration, client service, or a related field
- Strong understanding of retirement plans, including plan design, implementation, and administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel and other software applications
- Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in retirement planning
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, finance, or economics
Nice to Have
- Experience working with retirement plan recordkeeping systems and other technology platforms
- Knowledge of ERISA and other regulatory requirements applicable to retirement plans
- Professional certifications, such as CEBS or GBA
- Experience working in a consulting or client-facing role
- Strong business development and sales skills
