As a Senior Software Developer, you will be expected to mentor junior team members, provide technical guidance, and contribute to the improvement of the team's overall performance. What You Will Do
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems, applications, and components
- Make design decisions that encourage leveragability, potential reuse, componentization, extensibility, maintainability, and are minimally coupled
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions that adhere to architectural best practices
- Provide solutions and alternatives to impasses impacting timetables, scalability, and performance factors
- Contribute to the development of a technical roadmap
- Maintain knowledge of currently evolving platforms, programming languages, and web/database technologies
- Stay up-to-date on business initiatives and objectives, particularly as these relate to infrastructure and development architecture issues
- Evaluate new platforms, technologies, and software products/techniques to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities within the company's products
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of technology
- Advise and mentor Software Development team members as an escalation point
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering, information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 6+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically with 1+ years in a Senior Associate level role or external equivalent
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Object-Oriented (Analysis, Design, Programming)
- Working knowledge of multiple languages, software development environment, and software development life-cycle procedures
- Experience with PHP, Json, Java, AWS, API Integrations, RESTful Web services, Structured and unstructured databases, JavaScript frameworks (Angular, VUE, React)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage competing demands, delays, or unexpected events
- Experience with Application Integration and building APIs for rapidly integrating products
- Experience working on Agile Scrum and DevOps aligned delivery teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, or similar tools
- Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed
- Experience developing software development estimates
- Experience developing Cloud-native apps and/or migrating apps to cloud, preferably AWS
