About the Role

As a Senior Staff Quantitative User Researcher at Mozilla, you will be part of the Firefox User Research team, which champions human-centered exploration of complex problems. Your primary focus will be on leading strategic and tactical quantitative studies to understand user needs, behaviors, and motivations. This role is critical in informing product and design strategy, ensuring that decisions are data-driven and user-centered. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, engineers, and fellow researchers, to embed quantitative insights into the product development lifecycle.

The Firefox User Research team is dedicated to using evidence, data, and insight to drive decision-making. As a Senior Staff Quantitative User Researcher, you will be expected to own strategic quantitative research initiatives, from scoping business needs and designing surveys to synthesizing data and communicating actionable recommendations.

What You Will Do

  • Own strategic quantitative research initiatives from scoping business needs and designing surveys to synthesizing data and communicating actionable recommendations.
  • Utilize a variety of research methods to embed quantitative insights into the end-to-end product development lifecycle.
  • Partner cross-functionally at a strategic level with product, design, engineering, data science, and marketing teams.
  • Analyze and translate complex data sources to build cohesive, evidence-based perspectives that guide product decisions.
  • Champion user-centered decision-making by embedding research into product strategy and advocating for user needs.
  • Elevate the quantitative practice by mentoring peers, refining methods and tools, and scaling approaches that increase the visibility and impact of user insights.
  • Develop and own a research roadmap, identifying high-impact research opportunities and aligning insights to business priorities.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to ensure that research findings are integrated into product development and decision-making processes.
  • Communicate research findings and recommendations to various stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and engineers.

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in user research, product research, or an applied research setting, with a focus on quantitative methods.
  • Proven track record of leading strategic quantitative research initiatives and communicating complex insights effectively.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
  • Experience with survey design, implementation, and analysis.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with various teams, including product, design, and engineering.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as R, Python, or SQL.
  • Knowledge of human-computer interaction principles and user experience design.
