Job Description

About the Role

As a Sr z/OS Mainframe Senior Network Systems Programmer at Broadridge, you will be responsible for defining strategies for the company's z/OS Mainframe Network Software environment and supporting its implementation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability and reliability of mainframe systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mainframe technology, including z/OS, VTAM, SNA, APPN, and HPR, as well as TCP/IP and mainframe software infrastructure.

What You Will Do

  • Determine mainframe z/OS software upgrade requirements to maintain all products at current and supported levels
  • Coordinate and schedule major software upgrades between different Mainframe Technical support teams
  • Define resource requirements in conjunction with other managers within the Technical Services group to support software and hardware upgrade requirements
  • Develop and maintain standards for all Software Infrastructure and Program Products
  • Monitor CPU, Memory, and DASD trends to maintain service levels of supported software
  • Perform Project Management for all major product upgrades to ensure mainframe stability and reliability objectives are sustained
  • Stay abreast of vendor software trends and product release schedules for the z/OS technology software on the IBM mainframe
  • Manage multiple projects, develop detailed implementation plans and schedules, and prepare periodic status reports
  • Consult with management and technical staff on other related mainframe software and hardware initiatives
  • Provide on-call support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of z/OS Mainframe VTAM, SNA, APPN, and HPR experience
  • Implementation, configuration, and support of VTAM, SNA, APPN, and HPR technologies
  • Implementation, configuration, and support of mainframe TCP/IP in a z/OS Parallel Sysplex environment
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, and strong judgment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • MS/BS or equivalent work experience
  • Support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises
  • Provide on-call support
  • 15+ years of related technical experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Connect: Direct and NetView Network Management
  • Understanding of enterprise system communications and file transfer protocols
  • Understanding of enterprise encryption applications and processes such as TCPIP AT/TLS and SSL/TLS
  • Experience with communications server infrastructure program products
