Staff Accountant - India Exchange

## About the Role The Staff Accountant position at Coinbase is a critical component of the company's finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and accounting operations. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with various stakeholders, including the Global Accounting team, Tax, FP&A, Business Finance, Treasury, Financial Reporting, Payroll, and Accounts Payable. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, maintaining international subsidiaries' parallel books of accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

## What You Will Do - Partner with the Global Accounting team to prepare month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate book closure - Prepare and review financial statements for global consolidated audits and international subsidiary statutory reporting - Maintain international subsidiaries' parallel books of accounts in accordance with local country GAAP - Support monthly management reporting and related analytical reviews - Understand ABOR posting and mapping rules, and coordinate with Financial Analytics teams to understand posting logic and flow of funds - Lead cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, and Source-to-Pay teams to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting - Coordinate preparation of regulatory filings, and tax reporting for external stakeholders - Ensure appropriate intercompany schedules are maintained and that settlements occur in a timely manner - Support the India entity's liquidity management in close coordination with the Treasury team - Monitor the safeguarding of customer funds in accordance with applicable policies and oversee related reconciliation procedures

## What We Are Looking For - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field - 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a fintech or technology company - Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of US GAAP and local country GAAP - Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Ability to work effectively in a remote environment - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in Excel and other accounting software - Experience with financial reporting and analysis - Knowledge of internal controls, policies, and procedures

## Nice to Have - Experience with cryptocurrency or blockchain technology - Certification in accounting, such as CPA or CA - Experience with financial planning and analysis - Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance
