About the Role

The Staff Accountant role at UHP is a critical component of the organization's financial operations, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of financial transactions. This position plays a key part in daily accounting operations, account reconciliations, and overall support of the accounting function. What You Will Do

  • Record daily financial transactions with accuracy and consistency
  • Process Accounts Payable, including invoice review and payment preparation
  • Manage customer receivables, including weekly collections
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation
  • Assist with general ledger entries and financial reporting
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, internal teams, and external stakeholders in a professional manner
  • Support additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 1+ year of experience in accounting, finance, or a related area
  • Experience in an accounting, billing, or student financials environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs required)
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and/or HubSpot
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion

Nice to Have

  • Certification in accounting (CPA, CMA, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud-based financial systems
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and analysis
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software
