About the Role

The Staff Attorney position at CareerTEAM, LLC is a unique opportunity for a legal professional to make a significant impact on both US and Philippines operations. As a key member of the Legal Department, this role will involve providing strategic legal guidance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing contract workflows. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on a wide range of legal matters, from contract review and management to compliance advice and support, all while working in a fully remote environment.

Day-to-day, the Staff Attorney will be responsible for supporting both US and Philippines operations, collaborating with a remote US-based team, and reporting directly to the General Counsel. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work proactively to identify and resolve legal issues.

What You Will Do

  • Review, revise, and manage contracts relating to US operations, including federal and state grant programs
  • Provide compliance advice and support for US operations
  • Draft and maintain internal policies and procedures for US operations
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with US tax requirements
  • Assist with registrations, permits, and other corporate compliance tasks for US entities
  • Coordinate with brokers and internal stakeholders regarding insurance coverage for US entities
  • Conduct internal investigations as needed
  • Oversee employment law compliance and HR legal matters in the Philippines
  • Manage business registration and regulatory filings for Philippines operations
  • Ensure tax compliance and proper reporting for Philippine corporate and employment taxes
  • Draft and maintain internal policies tailored to the Philippines business unit
  • Support insurance procurement and compliance in the Philippines

What We Are Looking For

  • Law degree and active license to practice in the Philippines
  • A law degree from a law school in the US or other common law jurisdiction is preferable
  • Experience or formal education related to US law is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with US tax, compliance, employment, and/or business law is preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying and resolving legal issues
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team
  • Commitment to ethical, mission-driven legal practice
