Job Description

About the Role

The Staff Demand Planner will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of inventory and demand planning for Sunrun's New Homes division. This position will be responsible for coordinating and executing the monthly cycle count process, minimizing cycle count variance issues, and optimizing material flow and efficiency in the value chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, inventory optimization, and demand planning, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

As a key member of the team, the Staff Demand Planner will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Builder Operations, Business Units, and Install Partners, to ensure seamless communication and coordination. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement demand planning strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and other factors to forecast demand and adjust inventory levels accordingly
  • Coordinate and execute the monthly cycle count process across all partner warehouses
  • Identify and resolve cycle count variance issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent future discrepancies
  • Optimize material flow and efficiency in the value chain through continuous improvement of inventory management strategies
  • Collaborate with Builder Operations to manage product changes and ensure compliance with Safe Harbor changes in the Sunrun supply chain
  • Develop and maintain the Master SKU List, and ensure alignment with Bills of Material, Virtual Inventory Warehouse, proposals, and plan sets
  • Track and manage inventory performance for all Install Partner locations
  • Coordinate the requisitioning and supply of material that may be stocked out or require alternative substitutes due to discontinued or obsolete status
  • Work with Business Units to refine materials forecasts and optimize inventory levels

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a similar discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Demand Planner, Master Scheduler, Production Control Analyst, or in a related field
  • Proven track record of success in demand planning and inventory management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop insightful recommendations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with inventory management software and systems, such as ERP or CRM systems
  • APICS certification or equivalent experience in materials management
  • Continuous education in related fields, such as supply chain management or operations management

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the solar energy sector or a related industry
  • Knowledge of Safe Harbor changes and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with Virtual Inventory Warehouse and other inventory management systems
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
