About the Role

The Staff HRIS Analyst plays a critical role in shaping the future of people technology at Gitlab, a leading platform for DevSecOps. As a key member of the People Technology team, you will own the HRIS product roadmap, driving system evolution and scalability to support the company's rapid growth. Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing root needs, co-designing solutions, and implementing durable, efficient, and long-lasting fixes.

As a Staff HRIS Analyst, you will work closely with stakeholders to solve complex problems, build scalable solutions, and drive system reliability and uptime. Your expertise in Workday configuration, release readiness, and testing will ensure seamless launches and smoother releases. You will also define and enforce security and access governance practices, navigating SOX ITGC requirements with fluency.

What You Will Do

  • Own the HRIS product roadmap and drive system evolution to reduce friction and enable scale across People operations.
  • Lead Workday configuration, release readiness, and testing for annual People programs and system updates.
  • Build and govern integrations across the People technology ecosystem, including troubleshooting issues and improving system reliability and uptime.
  • Define and enforce security and access governance practices across People systems, navigating SOX ITGC requirements.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and analyses to help stakeholders make faster, more informed decisions with clearer and more reliable people data.
  • Drive mass data changes, policy rollouts, and system updates with careful testing and strong attention to detail.
  • Elevate system capability across the organization, enabling users and building toward a self-sufficient workforce.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to diagnose root needs, challenge assumptions, and co-design solutions that are durable, efficient, and built to last.
  • Champion annual People programs and system releases, raising the bar for what great looks like across the people technology landscape.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in HRIS analysis, preferably with Workday experience.
  • Strong understanding of HR systems, processes, and data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose root needs and co-design solutions.
  • Experience with Workday configuration, release readiness, and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of security and access governance practices, including SOX ITGC requirements.
  • Ability to build and govern integrations across the People technology ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience creating reports, dashboards, and analyses.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders to solve complex problems.
  • Experience with mass data changes, policy rollouts, and system updates.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI-driven productivity tools and workflows.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with people technology landscape, including HR systems and processes.
  • Certification in Workday or other HRIS systems.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
