About the Role
The Staff Product Designer role at Abridge is a unique opportunity to redesign the future of healthcare delivery. As a key member of the product team, you will create experiences that give clinicians back time, reduce cognitive load, and enable doctors to give their patients undivided attention again. You will work closely with cross-functional partners, including clinicians, engineers, and designers, to shape the product experience and set a high bar for taste, clarity, and strategic thinking.The current state of clinical documentation forces doctors to choose between looking at their patients or looking at their computers. This role is for someone who dreams big and can reimagine experiences that prioritize patient care and clinician well-being. You will be working on problems that have never been solved before, in an industry where design decisions impact human lives and well-being.

What You Will Do
- Simplify complex clinical workflows and AI capabilities into intuitive and delightful user experiences
- Collaborate deeply with cross-functional partners to shape the product experience and set a high bar for taste, clarity, and strategic thinking
- Advocate for design excellence at every stage of the product lifecycle
- Lead end-to-end design execution, from concept to launch
- Design for today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges, translating early ideas into concrete, high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and user flows
- Champion user-centered design, engaging in user research, synthesizing insights, and ensuring that every design decision is rooted in a deep understanding of clinicians’ needs and pain points
- Push the boundaries of visual and interaction design, ensuring every pixel and interaction is meticulously considered and executed to perfection
- Establish design standards and elevate the craft of design within the organization
- Work closely with engineers to ensure design concepts are feasible and meet product requirements
- Participate in design critiques and contribute to the growth and development of the design team
What We Are Looking For
- 7-12+ years of experience shipping impactful product design in complex domains
- Bonus points for AI experience
- A proven track record of leading significant design initiatives from concept to launch, demonstrating measurable impact on user experience and business outcomes
- A high craft bar that you consistently meet and exceed
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
- Ability to articulate design rationale and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong understanding of design principles, motion, and prototyping
- Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the healthcare industry or on healthcare-related projects
- Knowledge of clinical workflows and electronic medical records (EMRs)
- Familiarity with AI-powered solutions and machine learning principles
- Certification in design or a related field
- Experience with front-end development and coding languages such as HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
