About the Role

The Staff Product Designer position at Twilio is a unique opportunity to join a team dedicated to shaping the future of communications. As a key member of the Onboarding and Compliance design team, you will focus on designing end-to-end functionality that enhances the customer onboarding process and ensures compliance, resulting in a superior customer experience. This role is part of a larger effort to revolutionize how businesses and developers interact with customers, leveraging innovative solutions and a strong culture of connection and global inclusion.

The Onboarding and Compliance design team is composed of five product designers with a diverse range of experiences, from early-career professionals to seasoned experts. This team serves all Twilio customers, developing key features that make the customer onboarding process more efficient and compliant, leading to a better overall customer experience.

As a Staff Product Designer, you will work closely with product and engineering stakeholders, using UX best practices to design multi-page or multi-state experiences. You will be an owner of your work, prioritizing tasks to maximize impact while supporting design and business objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to the product team's roadmap by using customer and product expertise to inform design decisions
  • Design end-to-end functionality for your product team, focusing on key features that enhance the customer onboarding process and ensure compliance
  • Work alongside other product designers and stakeholders to leverage UX best practices and diverge and converge on solutions
  • Lead or co-lead research initiatives to inform design and identify opportunities for the product team
  • Utilize and help evolve the design system when needed, ensuring consistency and innovation in design solutions
  • Clearly document and articulate decision-making in a way that is easy for different audiences to understand
  • Independently manage feedback and escalate risks appropriately, ensuring that design solutions meet business objectives and customer needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and marketing, to ensure that design solutions align with business goals
  • Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback to peers, contributing to the growth and development of the design team

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on UX best practices and design systems
  • Strong portfolio that showcases your ability to design complex, user-centered experiences
  • Experience working in a remote-first environment and ability to work effectively with distributed teams
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and negotiate with stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of design principles, human-centered design, and customer experience
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to maximize impact
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Strong understanding of front-end development principles and how they impact design solutions

  • Experience working with artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies
