About the Role
The Staff Product Manager for Cards Monetization at Stripe plays a critical role in driving the company's mission to increase the GDP of the internet. This involves leading the development of pricing strategies for card payment products worldwide, ensuring that Stripe maintains its competitive edge while meeting the evolving needs of its customers. The Cards team at Stripe is responsible for the infrastructure, user-facing features, and business of accepting credit, debit, and pre-paid card payments, making this role central to the company's success.As a Staff Product Manager, you will be part of a collaborative effort between engineering, design, analytics, operations, and customer-facing teams to build innovative payments products. Your day-to-day will involve balancing the needs of customers and the competitive landscape, while helping Stripe maintain its margins. This role offers significant exposure to Stripe's leadership and the opportunity to drive initiatives that create observability into Stripe's margins and revenue realization on Cards.
What You Will Do
- Lead Card IC+ pricing/product and launch Stripe's IC+ pricing on Cards in new geos, growing adoption with enterprise users.
- Ensure GTM teams are enabled with the right tools and cost assumptions to streamline sales and customer success processes for IC+ product.
- Define what Stripe charges for card transactions worldwide, setting pricing principles, driving pricing decisions, and operationalizing those decisions.
- Work with engineering and data science to build observability into current pricing, margin, and revenue realization, driving insights and translating them into pricing recommendations.
- Define processes for competitive analysis and regular pricing audits, automating pricing processes over time.
- Research best practices in pricing automation, such as algorithmic bundling and discounting, and build out an end-to-end B2B pricing automation stack at Stripe.
- Collaborate with sales teams to build out the B2B pricing stack, ensuring automation of bundling and discounting decisions.
- Work backwards from merchants to define and deliver new pricing models that meet the needs of their growing businesses.
