Job Description

About the Role

As a Staff Product Manager for Team Foundations at Dropbox, you will be at the helm of driving the Core product strategy and execution for experiences that enable Dropbox teams to form, grow, and collaborate seamlessly across organizational boundaries. This role is pivotal in restoring the Teams business to positive net license growth by tackling structural product, identity, licensing, and UX gaps that impede team formation and expansion. Modern work no longer fits neatly within one company, one team, or one annual seat model, and teams often work with external partners, contractors, or freelancers, necessitating a product that can accommodate these diverse collaborations.

The Staff Product Manager will own the end-to-end Team Foundations product strategy, with a primary focus on multi-team identity and adjacent growth levers such as password-sharing monetization and monthly licensing. This involves defining how Dropbox should support complex external collaboration and multi-team workflows, turning technically complex identity, access, licensing, and account-model work into intuitive Core product flows for joining teams, switching contexts, managing access, and understanding the implications of team membership.

What You Will Do

  • Own the Core product strategy and execution for Team Foundations, focusing on multi-team identity and adjacent growth surfaces.
  • Define the product vision and strategy for supporting complex external collaboration and multi-team workflows.
  • Lead a broad portfolio that includes multi-team identity, password-sharing conversion, and monthly licenses, ensuring these components work harmoniously to drive team growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn technically complex identity, access, licensing, and account-model work into intuitive user experiences.
  • Develop and execute plans to address structural gaps in identity, licensing, and UX that prevent Teams from expanding in real-world scenarios.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to frame strategy, tradeoffs, sequencing, and risks clearly across multiple executive audiences.
  • Hold a system-level view across identity, auth, account switching, sharing, billing, lifecycle messaging, experimentation, analytics, and support readiness.
  • Drive the development of clear, trustworthy Core user experiences that make complex technical systems understandable and accessible to users.
  • Participate in the development of product roadmaps, prioritizing features and functionalities that align with the overall product vision and business objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.

What We Are Looking For

  • A seasoned product manager with a proven track record of driving product strategy and execution in complex, technically challenging environments.
  • Experience in managing products that involve identity, access, licensing, and account models, with the ability to translate technical complexity into intuitive user experiences.
  • Strong understanding of modern work practices, including external collaborations, multi-team workflows, and the needs of admins and end-users in these contexts.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and marketing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights that inform product decisions.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and a data-driven approach to product development.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate product vision and strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with cloud-based collaboration tools and platforms.
  • Knowledge of authentication, account models, permissions, RBAC, multi-tenancy, session state, billing, and data integrity.
  • Familiarity with experimentation, analytics, and support readiness in product development.
  • Experience leading or participating in the development of product roadmaps and prioritizing features based on business objectives and customer needs.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary and equity package.
  • Comprehensive health insurance plan.
  • Generous PTO policy, including vacation days, sick leave, and holidays.
  • Remote work stipend to support your home office setup.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development within a leading tech company.
  • Access to cutting-edge technologies and tools.
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment with a team of experienced professionals.

How to Stand Out

  • Develop a deep understanding of the product and its technical foundations to effectively communicate with engineers and designers.
  • Prepare examples of how you've driven product strategy and execution in previous roles, highlighting your ability to navigate complex technical systems and derive intuitive user experiences.
  • Showcase your leadership skills by describing your experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior leadership.
  • Emphasize your analytical skills by walking the interviewer through your process for analyzing complex data sets and deriving actionable insights.
  • Be prepared to discuss your approach to balancing business objectives with user needs, and how you prioritize features and functionalities in your product roadmap.
  • Highlight any experience you have with cloud-based collaboration tools, identity, access, and account models, as these are key areas of focus for the Team Foundations product.
  • Prepare thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer about the role, the team, and the company's approach to product development and remote work.
