About the Role
The Staff Product Manager, Search & Monetization role is a critical position at Mozilla, responsible for driving the strategy and execution of search experiences within the Firefox Desktop browser. As a key member of the Firefox Desktop Search & Monetization team, you will own the product strategy for search, operating at the intersection of product experience, revenue growth, and partner strategy.The team's mission is to deliver high-quality, privacy-respecting search experiences that drive Firefox Desktop revenue and search engagement. Search is the most essential functionality in any browser, shaping daily user behavior while representing the majority of Firefox's revenue. As a Staff Product Manager, you will be responsible for navigating complex trade-offs between user experience, privacy principles, technical constraints, and revenue outcomes.
What You Will Do
- Own and drive the product strategy for search within the Firefox Desktop browser to grow search engagement and revenue
- Lead end-to-end experimentation across browser search access points, default search experiences, and monetization surfaces
- Define clear success metrics in partnership with Data Science, analyze results, and translate insights into actionable decisions
- Partner with Business Development to support search partnerships and ensure product execution aligns with contractual and strategic commitments
- Contribute to quarterly and annual planning, identifying risks, opportunities, and long-term strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, and Data Science, to drive search product development and optimization
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the search market, industry trends, and competitor activity
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and innovations in search, and apply this knowledge to inform product decisions
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of revenue-impacting product areas
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and user engagement through search product development and optimization
- Strong understanding of search market trends, industry developments, and competitor activity
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
- Ability to navigate complex technical and business trade-offs, with a strong analytical mindset
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to define clear success metrics and translate insights into actionable decisions
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Nice to Have
- Experience with search engine optimization (SEO) and paid search marketing
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or JavaScript
- Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
