About the Role

Affirm is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its Identity Engineering team, focusing on back-end development. This role is crucial for the company's mission to make credit more honest and friendly, particularly in its efforts to expand globally and operate compliantly across diverse regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long scale, tying it with critical business-impacting projects.
  • Collaborate across teams in the product development lifecycle, including product management, design, and analytics.
  • Act as a force-multiplier for the team through defining and advocating technical solutions and operational processes.
  • Ensure the team's operations and availability through monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting.
  • Foster a culture of quality and ownership, setting code review and design standards, and advocating for them.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on back-end development.

Nice to Have

Experience in building and scaling identity management systems, KYC verification, and decisioning capabilities.
