Staff Software Engineer

About the Role

The role is part of Bright Vision Technologies' in-house Statement of Work (SOW) engagement, which means you will be working directly with the company's teams to deliver high-quality solutions. You will be expected to raise the engineering bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of junior engineers.

What You Will Do

• Lead the design and execution of large, complex, cross-team engineering initiatives
• Develop architectural standards and reference patterns adopted across multiple engineering teams
• Mentor senior engineers and influence the technical direction of the organization
• Lead detailed technical design reviews and architectural decision-making for high-impact initiatives
• Operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating long-term goals into concrete engineering plans
• Drive significant improvements in the engineering team's efficiency and effectiveness
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions
• Raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers

What We Are Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering
• Strong technical depth and organizational judgment
• Experience with Excel and other relevant tools
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a remote employee
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Experience with architectural standards and reference patterns
• Ability to mentor senior engineers and influence the technical direction of the organization
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience with cloud-based technologies and agile development methodologies

Nice to Have

• Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
• Knowledge of DevOps and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks
