About the Role

The Staff Software Engineer position at Webflow is a critical component of the company's mission to empower businesses and individuals through its Website Experience Platform. As a key member of the New Product team, the successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Engineering, to develop and refine the next generation of eCommerce solutions. This role is not just about writing code; it's about blending technical expertise with product vision to create exceptional customer experiences.

The New Product team is at the forefront of Webflow's innovation, focusing on building a first-class customer experience that integrates seamlessly with the company's robust ecosystem of tools and products. The team's efforts are crucial for enabling Webflow's Structure product goals, which in turn empower hundreds of thousands of customers to turn their ideas into reality.

Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, the Staff Software Engineer will be part of a distributed team, working remotely from Argentina. This provides an opportunity to be part of a global company while contributing to the growth of the local tech community in Buenos Aires.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers across teams to plan and build product capabilities that align with Webflow's Structure product goals.
  • Effectively communicate team priorities and strategy to both engineering and cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Champion technical standards while balancing business strategies and requirements, ensuring that solutions are scalable, efficient, and meet customer needs.
  • Build, document, and test production code that impacts all Webflow customers, focusing on quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Participate in all engineering activities, including incident response, interviewing, designing and reviewing technical specifications, code review, and releasing new functionality.
  • Lead projects that directly contribute to team and engineering organization deliverables, driving projects from inception to deployment.
  • Solve complex technical problems in a highly collaborative environment, leveraging expertise in distributed systems architecture and exceptional user experience.
  • Improve planning, development, and deployment processes to enhance team efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor, coach, and inspire a team of engineers of various levels, contributing to the growth and development of the engineering community at Webflow.
  • Participate in engineering citizenship activities such as co-authoring engineering blogs, strengthening hiring processes, and leading internal hackathon teams.

What We Are Looking For

  • A BS/BA college degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in shipping features and products, with a strong focus on web frameworks and products.
  • Innate interest in the Web Platform, Design Systems, and the intersection of building platforms that enable customers.
  • Ability to think through large technical problems and work collaboratively to solve them.
  • Comfort with building a mental model of a product and architecture through code reading and debugging existing software.
  • Experience in debugging production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
  • Pride in taking ownership and driving projects to achieve business impact.
  • Deep understanding of data design and modeling.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven technologies and their applications in eCommerce.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Webflow's Website Experience Platform or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of Spanish, given the role's location in Argentina, though not required.
