About the Role
As a Staff Software Engineer at Ramp, you will play a crucial role in leading the development of their iOS app, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive product engineering roadmaps and make key decisions. This is a high-visibility role that requires strong technical leadership, a passion for innovation, and a deep understanding of iOS development. What You Will Do
- Design, lead, build, and launch new products on Ramp's iOS app
- Drive the core product engineering roadmap and make important prioritization and scoping decisions
- Code review, set engineering standards, mentor, and own quality
- Work with Product and Design to plan and identify key features to make the app successful
- Collaborate with product and business teams to understand customer feedback and improve the product
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of iOS development, including Swift, iOS UI components, and mobile design patterns
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in iOS development and apply that knowledge to improve the app
- Work with the team to identify and prioritize technical debt and implement solutions
- Participate in the hiring process to help build a strong engineering team
- Develop and maintain technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and ease of onboarding
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience in iOS development
- A minimum of 2 years of technical leadership experience leading and/or managing teams
- Proficiency in Swift for iOS development
- Knowledge of iOS UI components and the iOS Developer Platform
- Experience contributing to at least one mobile app and/or several features that reached a large number of users
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously grow, and master your craft
- Drive to learn new technologies and adapt to different situations
- Strong understanding of mobile design patterns and best practices
- Understanding of security best practices for mobile apps
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to Have
- Experience with Ramp's mobile stack: SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency, The Composable Architecture, Bazel, widgets, app extensions
- Experience with web apps (React, JS, etc.)
- Experience with backend technologies (Python, Flask, SQL, OpenAPI, etc.)
- Experience managing apps with App Store Connect
