Staff Software Engineer, Product (Porto Alegre)

About the Role

The company is expanding its services beyond lawn care to become a one-stop shop for all home services, operating across three brands on a single shared platform. As a key member of the engineering team, you will work in small, focused initiative teams and have regular collaboration with engineering peers and weekly check-ins with your Engineering Manager.

What You Will Do

• Lead AI coding agents to implement code and ensure high-quality, production-ready output
• Own the technical approach for your initiative, including architecture, data model, and integration choices
• Work closely with Product Manager and designer to develop and implement new features and services
• Direct AI agents to implement much of the code and ensure safe, correct, and production-ready output
• Collaborate with engineering peers on adjacent initiatives and share codebase
• Participate in weekly check-ins with Engineering Manager and provide regular progress updates
• Make significant architectural decisions and bring them to architect review
• Document technical decisions and revisit them if data indicates a need for change
• Operate at a staff bar, trusted to make technical calls and stand behind outcomes
• Work with cross-functional teams, including PM and design, to ensure successful initiative outcome

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on product development
• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in programming languages and software development methodologies
• Experience leading AI coding agents and owning technical approach for initiatives
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in a remote setting
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
• Strong understanding of software development principles, including architecture, data model, and integration choices
• Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to break down complex problems into manageable components

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-based technologies and microservices architecture
• Familiarity with machine learning and natural language processing concepts
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and experience with security testing and compliance
