About the Role

As a Staff Structural Engineer at Arcadis, you will be part of a dynamic team that delivers innovative and high-quality design solutions for projects across various sectors, including manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, technology, utilities, and rail. Your expertise will play a crucial role in leading key project components, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to tackle complex structural challenges. The role entails working closely with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to establish codes, loads, analysis methods, and tools, as well as performing technical work with an increased level of complexity. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of materials, lead technical efforts, and contribute to the development of innovative design solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the growth and development of the team.

What You Will Do

  • Lead key project components, including establishing codes, loads, analysis methods, and tools
  • Perform technical work with an increased level of complexity, including seismic analysis and design
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors
  • Develop calculations, plans, specifications, and other contract documents
  • Exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
  • Perform Construction Administration duties, including completing field observation reports, responding to RFIs, and submittal reviews
  • Travel as needed for project-related activities, including client meetings and site visits
  • Work directly with clients to understand their needs and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Contribute to the development of innovative design solutions and new business opportunities
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth and development of the team

What We Are Looking For

  • 6 or more years of relevant structural engineering project experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or Senior EIT candidate looking to write their PE exam in the next 6 months
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Strong problem-solving skills with critical thinking and initiative
  • Excellent working knowledge of all USA National codes and standards, such as IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.
  • Strong technical software skills related to RISA, ETABS, BIM tools, Revit, and AutoCAD
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Nice to Have

  • Experience with seismic analysis and design
  • Knowledge of sustainable design and engineering principles
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Certification in a related field, such as LEED or SE
