About the Role
The Start-Up Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the successful activation of clinical trial sites across multiple European countries. As a key member of the project management team, this individual will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, managing site selection and activation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet study timelines and client expectations.The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of clinical trial management, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. What You Will Do
- Manage the end-to-end study start-up process, including site selection, regulatory submissions, site contracting, and budgeting
- Define start-up strategy and timelines in collaboration with the Project Manager and cross-functional leads
- Prepare and maintain a site activation plan to ensure selected sites and countries optimize opportunities for successful study delivery
- Proactively identify and communicate issues impacting delivery and provide proposed solutions
- Monitor progress against timelines and proactively address delays or risks
- Oversee and coordinate each step of the start-up process to ensure activation goals are met
- Serve as the primary liaison among all functions involved during the start-up period, ensuring effective cross-functional communication and collaboration
- Track and report start-up performance metrics, providing transparency and accountability
- Lead client-facing calls and serve as the main point of contact for start-up activities with internal teams and sponsors
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in clinical trial start-up, with demonstrated leadership experience
- Proven ability to manage multi-country start-up activities and cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
- Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong Excel skills and experience with project management tools
- Experience working in a remote team environment
Nice to Have
- Experience working with clinical trial management systems (CTMS) and electronic data capture (EDC) systems
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines for clinical trials in Europe
- Certification in clinical trial management or a related field
