About the Role

The Stockperson Cartpusher role at Walmart Canada is a vital part of the retail team, responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience. This role entails collecting shopping carts from the cart corrals, parking lot, and store perimeter, and returning them to a safe storage location. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean and safe work environment. As a Stockperson Cartpusher, you will be an integral part of the store's operations, working closely with the customer service team to ensure that customers' needs are met. You will be responsible for responding promptly to requests at all registers and safely assisting customers with carry outs or carry ins. You will also be required to follow established guidelines for occasional cleaning and maintenance of the restrooms, handling chemicals, and following correct disposal procedures. What You Will Do

  • Collect shopping carts from the cart corrals, parking lot, and store perimeter, and return them to a safe storage location
  • Assist in customer service through the collection of shopping carts and responding promptly to requests at all registers
  • Safely assist customers with carry outs or carry ins, and verify receipts for proof of purchase
  • Follow established guidelines for occasional cleaning and maintenance of the restrooms, handling chemicals, and following correct disposal procedures
  • Use power equipment, including inspection report completion before use
  • Adhere to safety and emergency procedures, ensuring guidelines are being followed properly for hazardous communications, lockout/tagout, and blood-borne pathogens
  • Maintain the Cart Retrieval Log at the Customer Service Desk
  • Contribute to a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment through adherence to Company policy and procedures
  • Promote safety by using personal protective equipment, including steel toe footwear and the proper reflective vest during cart collection for visibility
  • Complete safety sweeps as required

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Basic digital skills, including familiarity with retail systems and tools

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous retail experience is an asset
