About the Role
The Strategic Account Director role at Meeting Tomorrow is a key position focused on aggressively expanding the company's event production footprint within Fortune 5000 companies. This role is essentially a business development position that requires a 'hunter' mentality, with a focus on building a book of business from scratch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving growth by targeting and securingAs a Strategic Account Director, you will be the bridge between a client's creative vision and Meeting Tomorrow's technical production reality. This involves guiding a cross-functional team of producers, technical directors, and logistics experts to build multi-million dollar event programs. The goal is to find clients who execute multiple events throughout the year, in various locations around the globe, and position Meeting Tomorrow as their dedicated events partner in planning, creative, and production.
Given the nature of this role, the Strategic Account Director will spend a significant amount of time in front of clients, with up to 30% of their time dedicated to traveling to build relationships, attend industry events, and close deals in person. This requires a high level of interpersonal skills, strategic acumen, and the ability to navigate complex decision-making hierarchies within client organizations.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to expand Meeting Tomorrow's event production services within the Fortune 5000 sector.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities that align with the company's growth goals.
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with key decision-makers at target companies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and deliver customized event solutions that meet clients' needs and expectations.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments with potential clients to understand their event goals and challenges.
- Present Meeting Tomorrow's capabilities and value proposition to potential clients, highlighting the company's unique strengths and competitive advantages.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure that all agreements are aligned with the company's business objectives and legal requirements.
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the event production team to ensure successful event execution.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Manage a pipeline of potential clients and track progress through the sales funnel.
What We Are Looking For
- A proven track record of success in business development or sales, preferably within the events or hospitality industry.
- At least 5+ years of experience in the event industry, with a preference for agency-side experience over AV-only hardware sales.
- Established, high-level relationships within the target sectors (Pharma, FinServ, Tech, and Consulting).
- Strategic acumen and the ability to map a client's business goals to a technical production reality.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong results-driven mentality.
- Experience managing 0M+ in lifetime event revenue across a diverse client list.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box.

- Experience with event management software or CRM systems.
- Knowledge of marketing and sales strategies, including digital marketing principles.
- Certification in event planning or a related field.
