Job Description

About the Role

As a Strategic Account Executive at Datadog, you will play a key role in driving growth and expansion with the company's largest and most strategic customers. Your primary focus will be on identifying and addressing the pain points of organizations operating in or migrating to a cloud environment at scale. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of each client.

The role entails a deep understanding of the customer's business, including their technology stack, infrastructure, and cloud migration strategy. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, ensuring high customer satisfaction and loyalty.

What You Will Do

  • Prospect into large Fortune 1000 companies, running an efficient sales process to identify new business opportunities
  • Maintain, build, and own specific relationship maps for your territory, including existing relationships and aspirational contacts
  • Develop a deep comprehension of customers' businesses, including their pain points, goals, and challenges
  • Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large commercial enterprises by selling value and ROI
  • Handle existing customer expectations while expanding reach and depth into assigned territory
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges that defy easy solutions
  • Identify robust business drivers behind all opportunities and ensure high forecasting accuracy and consistency
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of closing experience in field sales, with a mix of mid-market and enterprise experience
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding direct sales goals of
    M+ and operating with an average deal size of
    00K+
  • Ability to demonstrate a methodology for prospecting and building pipeline on your own
  • Experience working for an innovative tech company, preferably in SaaS, IT infrastructure, or a similar field
  • Experience selling into large Fortune 1000 companies with the ability to win new logos
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, migration strategies, and infrastructure monitoring
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel regularly to client sites, within your area and other regions, as needed

Nice to Have

  • Experience with sales methodologies such as MEDDIC or Command of the Message
  • Familiarity with Datadog's products and services
  • Knowledge of the cloud computing market, including trends, competitors, and emerging technologies
  • Experience with sales tools such as CRM, sales automation, or data analytics platforms
