About the Role

As a Strategic Account Executive at Datadog, you will play a critical role in driving sales growth and managing key accounts. What You Will Do

  • Prospect into large Fortune 1000 companies and run an efficient sales process
  • Maintain, build, and own specific relationship maps for your territory, including existing relationships and aspirational contacts
  • Develop a deep comprehension of customers' business needs and deliver tailored solutions to meet their requirements
  • Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large commercial enterprises by selling value and ROI
  • Handle existing customer expectations while expanding reach and depth into assigned territory
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges that defy easy solution
  • Identify robust sets of business drivers behind all opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them
  • Ensure high forecasting accuracy and consistency, and provide regular updates to management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive growth and expansion in the cloud market

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of success in managing large, strategic accounts
  • Strong background in cloud technology, including cloud infrastructure, security, and analytics
  • Ability to demonstrate a methodology for prospecting and building pipeline on your own
  • Experience working with Fortune 1000 companies, with a strong understanding of their business needs and challenges
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to sell value and ROI to clients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong sense of urgency and adaptability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with Datadog or similar cloud-based solutions
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies such as MEDDIC and Command of the Message
  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid work environment
  • Certification in cloud technology, such as AWS or Azure
