About the Role
The Strategic Account Executive role at Datadog is a critical position that requires a unique blend of sales acumen, technical knowledge, and relationship-building skills. As a key member of the federal sales team, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive growth and revenue in the federal market. What You Will Do
- Prospect into large federal agencies and develop new business opportunities through strategic planning and execution
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the federal government, including IT leaders, program managers, and procurement officials
- Develop a deep understanding of the federal market, including key trends, challenges, and opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales engineering, marketing, and customer success, to deliver exceptional customer experiences and identify new business opportunities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth and revenue in the federal market
- Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large federal agencies
- Handle existing customer expectations while expanding reach and depth into assigned territory
- Demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges that defy easy solution
- Identify robust set of business drivers behind all opportunities
- Ensure high forecasting accuracy and consistency
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the federal market or a related field
- Proven track record of success in sales, with a strong understanding of the sales process and the ability to navigate complex sales cycles
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to understand and communicate the value of Datadog's products and services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key decision-makers in the federal government
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
- Strong understanding of the federal market, including key trends, challenges, and opportunities
Nice to Have
- Experience working with federal agencies, including IT leaders, program managers, and procurement officials
- Knowledge of federal procurement processes and regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule
- Experience with salesforce.com or other CRM systems
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data insights
