About the Role
The Strategic Account Executive (SLED) role at Datadog is a critical position that requires a unique blend of sales acumen, technical knowledge, and customer-centric approach. As a key member of the SLED sales team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. What You Will Do
- Prospect into large State, Local, and Education organizations to identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, and identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and drive business outcomes
- Develop and execute a sales strategy that drives real results and meets or exceeds sales targets
- Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large SLED enterprises by selling value and ROI
- Handle existing customer expectations while expanding reach and depth into assigned territory
- Demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges that defy easy solution
- Identify robust set of value drivers behind all opportunities and develop a deep comprehension of customer's business
- Ensure high forecasting accuracy and consistency
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of closing experience in SLED sales, with a mix of field selling within an assigned SLED region
- 2-3+ years of SLED/Gov sales experience, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and developing strong customer relationships
- Driven and results-oriented, with a strong focus on meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Ability to demonstrate methodology to prospect and build pipeline on your own
- Experienced in working for an innovative tech company, with a strong understanding of SaaS, IT infrastructure, or similar technologies
- Able to sit up to 4 hours, traveling to and from client sites, and able to travel via auto, train, or air up to 70% of the time
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues

- Experience working with a CRM system, such as Salesforce.com
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on innovation and teamwork
- Ability to speak multiple languages, with a strong understanding of cultural nuances and differences
